Golfing
When visiting Crescent City and Del Norte County, take some extra time and try a round of golf among our natures wonderland. A local favorite, close to Crescent City, is the Kings Valley Golf Course, a 9-hole executive length golf course near the intersections of U.S. Highway 101 and 199. Then again, there is the Del Norte Golf Course on State Highway 197 located near the Smith River and Jedediah Redwood Park, a great 9 hole course located in our banana belt. I've had fishermen friends visit our area and after fishing the Smith in the morning, they've gone golfing in the rain in their hip boots ... but, being in the banana belt of Del Norte County, the weather is usually very accommodating.
If you are looking for a bit more, north, about 40 minutes from Del Norte Golf Course, is the 18 hold championship Salmon Run golf course in Brookings, Oregon. If that isn't enough, take a beautiful drive north up the coast into Oregon. About 2 hours and 10 minutes from Crescent City, is the world famous Bandon Dunes Golf Resort where people fly in from all over the world to play this Scotland like course.
